How long have you been in business?
We opened 8 years ago -
What did you do before you started your business?
Before opening our store we worked from home supplying wedding and baptism favours to clients and their families. -
What makes your business unique?
We are a family operated business offering beautiful and individually hand selected products for newborns and young children alike. We support locally operated businesses as well as sourcing special items from our international suppliers in Europe and the U.S.A. We favour organic materials and innovative products. -
What do you love most about what you do?
We mostly love that every day is different. We receive many in store and online enquiries and get to meet plenty of lovely people and children each day. The best part is seeing the smiles on their faces when we’ve been able to accommodate their individual needs. -
What’s your favourite time of the day?
Our favourite time of the day is the time when we are replying to our customers’ enquiries, filling their online orders and serving those who’ve visited our store. There is nothing more rewarding than being able to please another individual. -
What’s the best piece of parenting advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of parenting advice received is that no two children are alike. You do what works for you right now and understand that there is no right or wrong, because what works for you may not work for another. -
If you could become any character from a children’s story, who would you be and why?
Choosing a favourite children’s book character is a difficult task since there are so many lovely books to choose from. One obvious classic that comes to mind is Winnie the Pooh. We admire Pooh because he is naive and slow-witted, but he is also friendly, thoughtful and reliable. Pooh is a talented poet and although he is humble about his slow-wittedness he is comfortable with his creative gifts. Pooh is also honey-loving, always kindhearted and very social. -
Who inspires you?
The person that inspires me the most is my mother. She was young, naive and inexperienced, gave birth to twin girls, had no manuals, mothers’ groups or helplines to phone when she needed answers to her questions. Instead, she trusted in herself and did what she thought was right for her and her family in that moment.
