The sippy cup features a unique bite-release drinking action that requires baby to press down firmly on the straw to release liquid. The key is for baby to place their lips over the entire straw (not just the tip) and press down to open the valve and allow the liquid to flow.

Every little one is different — some adjust to the straw right away, while others may need a bit more time. Encourage them to explore, and they’ll get there!

If you try this yourself and are still having issues, you may have a faulty straw. Please contact us for further assistance.

The longevity of our silicone straws can vary from child to child — depending on their age, how they drink, how often they drink, whether they’re teething, if they chew the straw, and so on. How gently the straws are cleaned can also make a difference. Follow the instructional video here on how to remove & insert your weighted straw

We recommend checking the straw before each use. At the first sign of damage or wear and tear, replace the straw. Sippy Cup Replacement Straws are available for purchase.

Click here to see our top tips video. We recommend washing straws after each use with warm to hot (not boiling) soapy water, using our straw cleaner to clean inside the straw and valve.

Simply insert the cleaning brush from the bottom of the straw and gently pull down. Repeat from the top. You can remove the weight or leave it attached — whichever is easiest for you. Then rinse thoroughly or place on the top rack of your dishwasher. You can gently pinch the straw to remove any excess liquid, and always allow the straw and other parts to dry completely before reassembling and storing.

The sippy cup straw is sterilizer safe. If using a microwave sterilizer, remove the weight.

The most common reason why the sippy cup can leak is that the straw is damaged and needs replacing, or the o-ring inside the lid is missing or dislodged.

Step 1. Determine where the leak is coming from.

Step 2. If the leak is between the cup and lid, check that the silicone seal in the groove under the lid is securely in place. Occasionally, with use and washing, the o-ring may slip out of place. You can watch our instructional video on how to insert the o-ring here

Step 3. If your sippy cup is leaking from the top of the straw, it’s likely the valve has worn out — totally normal with babies and toddlers. The good news is, we have replacement straws available and they’re easy to change over. You can watch our instructional video on how to change your straws here

Step 4. Make sure the entire triangular top of the straw passes through the lid so your straw is in the correct position.

Top tip: Be extra careful when cleaning the straw top, as the valve can tear. We recommend using our straw cleaner or cleaning brush set to gently and thoroughly clean your straws.

Yes, you can warm liquid in the base of the sippy cup. Please do not microwave the straw or attach the lid while microwaving. Always test the temperature of the liquid before serving. As a general guide, warm milk for about 20 seconds per 6 oz in the microwave.

No. Carbonated drinks may cause pressure to build up and spray from the top of the straw. It’s also not recommended by dentists to give young children juice or carbonated drinks.

Yes. You can use most formula and, of course, breast milk in the sippy cup. We recommend using our straw cleaner to make sure no residue is left inside the straw, and ensuring the straw is dry before storing. Straws are also dishwasher and sterilizer safe.

Yes. Thanks to our unique straw, you can enjoy leak-proof drinking with cold or warm liquid in the sippy cup (max 45°C or 113°F). Always remember to test the liquid temperature before giving it to your child.

Yes, you can warm food in your lunchbox in the microwave. Just remember to leave the lid open.

Remove the silicone seal and wash it separately to make sure no nasties get left behind. Hand wash, or place both the container and seal on the top rack of the dishwasher. Make sure all parts are completely dry before reassembling and storing.
